Delphine-Anne Rousseau, baroque violin

Settled in France since 2010, Québec-born violinist Delphine-Anne Rousseau is a member of Les Plaisirs des Muses, Matali, and I Sospiranti. Aside from collaborating on a regular basis with the Concert de l'Hostel Dieu, the Académie Bach d’Aix-en-Provence and La Compagnie des Violons du Roy, she played or has played within various ensembles such as Les ArcheTypes, Le Concert Lorrain, Academia Montis Regalis and Le Jardin des Délices. Among other directors, she has worked under Jordi Savall, Gabriel Garrido, Alessandro di Marchi, Enrico Onofri, William Christie, Hervé Niquet, Jérémie Rohrer and Jean Tubéry.

An early-music enthusiast since her very childhood, she graduated from McGill University in baroque violin performance with Chantal Rémillard. Her encounter with Manfredo Kraemer in 2003 brought her to Barcelona, where she studied in his and Pablo Valetti’s class at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMuC) until her graduation in 2010. Her studies of the baroque violin were characterised by a thorough work on chamber music with Xavier Díaz-Latorre, Andrew Lawrence King, Bruno Cocset, Lorenzo Coppola, Jean-Pierre Canihac, Alfredo Bernardini, Guido Balestracci and Pedro Memelsdorff among others.

In addition to taking part in various courses on both sides of the Atlantic, Delphine-Anne Rousseau was granted a scholarship from the Academia Montis Regalis Onlus for 2010, and she participated on three occasions to the Académie Baroque Européenne d'Ambronay, under W. Christie (2005), H. Niquet (2007) and J. Tubéry (2008).
